I do highly recommend emulating the trilogy on dolphin with HD texture packs. The remaster has it to iircīut if you have the chance. If you are into Sequence breaking or OOB stuff then play Prime 1 ver 1.00 on GameCube for all that. This newly surfaced context adds more credence to 2021 reports that suggested the Metroid Prime trilogy Switch port announcement is just a matter of time. I only got MPR out of curiosity to see how good the remaster is and maybe hope MPR2 can look that fuckin good. Also idk if yk but for vwii on a wiiu you can mod it with custom firmware so you can play nintendont on it and play Prime 1 on GC. Can't binge-play the games like the Gamecube versions so your arm finna hurt using the pointer controls all day. Trilogy is a great game for it's price but the main reason why I don't like it is the trilogy controls. I think physical copies go for $80 and up to $100 with the steel book so take advantage of it. But $20 for the trilogy is a great steal. Been having mine since launch and beat the crap out of it by using it as a dev kit for botw mods for the past 2 years and still alive so don't worry about it failing. It's a feature people take for granted but really convenient if you gotta go somewhere or run quick errands (I'm in college so super convenient for me) Wiiu be like you walk 5 feet away tablet turns off. Another reason to get it is the switch's main gimmick. Classic controls for people like me, Dualstick for Halo 2 players, Pointer for the Trilogy people, and Hybrid for psychopaths. The controls is why I think most people should buy MPR. Yup, Nintendo has given Metroid Prime Remastered an oh-so-dramatic introductory cutscene that sets the stage perfectly for one of the most cinematic, theatrical and gripping games Nintendo have. Not tryna to start a turf war but it's good. Now for people praising the graphics on how good it looks on the switch that's up for debate. The graphics are the main selling point for the remaster. Nintendo didn't try to pull the normal bullshit and charge Metroid fans $60 for a 20-year-old game. Sure you got asshats trolling calling it gay or whatever but for the price its really good for $40. The rumors and leaks for Metroid Prime Trilogy on the Nintendo Switch have been darn-near endless ever since the console launched in 2017. I've played all 3 versions of MP1 and imo I think MPR is the definitive edition to play the game. Whilst Nintendo has announced that a fourth entry is indeed coming to Switch consoles, the drought of information has certainly been felt by fans, who were unfortunately told back in 2019 that development had been restarted with original series developers, Retro Studios. It's mainly up for preference.
